-
The Cargill crop research teams travel over half a million kilometers a year across cocoa-growing regions to make predictions on crop size
-
Employees working in our origin country buying stations in cocoa-producing countries work closely with farmer cooperatives and purchase beans directly from small local operators
-
Each bag of beans entering our buying stations is sampled and analyzed for moisture content, with a sample per truck further analyzed on physical quality parameters such as moisture, mould, slate, bean count, and FFA. In addition, per export lot we analyze fat content and pH balance
- Working closely with farmer organizations, improvements are being made in farming and post-harvest methods, which has a direct impact on the quality of beans produced
Making cocoa and chocolate
Beans are transported for processing to world-class factories situated in the ports of the cocoa producing countries, as well as in the main consuming markets. Every factory delivers its own range of products. We produce made-to-measure cocoa and chocolate products, as well as coatings and fillings to suit your product needs. Most facilities have in-house laboratory facilities to test quality during production and to develop the final product according to your exact criteria.
