Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate

Cocoa and the community

Because we understand the value of education, we do our utmost to empower the farming communities. Some examples include:

Family farm schools in Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon

Forty schools have been established for children and young adults, providing basic education as well as practical farming skills in an extensive three-year program.

Maternity ward in Ghana

Cargill joined forces with the global charity Mercy Ships to construct a new maternity ward, which serves more than 20 communities in Tema.

Sustainable farming in Vietnam

Cargill is partnering with NGOs to bring improved cocoa farming to Vietnam. We are helping to share best farming practices and develop a quality bean for the international market.

Schooling and seedlings in Indonesia

Cargill has established an elementary school for farmers’ children in Sulawesi that also serves as a technical training institute for the farmers.

Cargill & Cocio a subsidiary of Arla Foods support orphanage

Supporting local communities in which we work and live is important to Cargill. That is why we are pleased that Arla Foods has joined our efforts to support a children’s home in Côte d'Ivoire.

Cargill and the community

Employees from Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate in Brazil support 22 schools and help 8,000 pupils in the Bahia area to convert unused plots of land into gardens. The children learn how to sow, grow, harvest and cook vegetables to improve eating habits.
