Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate. The essentials united.
Confirming our leading role in sustainable sourcing, we continue to make new investments in an efficient, transparent supply chain. As part of these efforts, we recently opened two more buying stations in cocoa producing areas, one in Vietnam and one in Côte d’Ivoire.
For our customers, a new buying station means cocoa and chocolate made from better quality beans. For cocoa farmers, it means direct market access and a better price for their crop. Upcountry buying stations also serve as operations bases for our farmer training and support program.
The buying station in Binh Phuoc, Vietnam, is part of our commitment to setting up an economically and environmentally sustainable cocoa growing industry in that country. Partners in this joint project are the Vietnamese and Dutch governments, Mars and the World Wildlife Fund.
Our new buying station in Côte d’Ivoire will also expand our presence on the ground. Here, too, we’re working to transfer know-how and build a better supply chain.
